Married 35 years, Trudy and Rob have practiced 40 and 41 years, respectively, balancing marriage and family with the demands of the legal profession.  They were the first married couple in the then newly established Potter Stewart Inn of Court in Cincinnati.

Trudy began her legal practice with two judicial clerkships, first with Presiding Judge George H. Palmer of Ohio’s First District Court of Appeals, and then with U.S. District Court Judge for the Northern District of Ohio, David D. Dowd.  To this day, she claims these two judges, one Democrat, the other Republican, had the most significant impact on her legal career.  Following her clerkships, Trudy practiced with Dinsmore & Shohl and Katz Teller.  She subsequently became Vice President and General Counsel for the Unifund Group.

Rob began and expected to end his career working at Taft Stettinius & Hollister.  He helped open Taft’s Northern Kentucky Office in 1986 and served as Partner in Charge of the office for over 20 years.  Rob is recognized in both Kentucky Super Lawyers and Best Lawyers in America. He has litigated a wide variety of civil cases throughout his career and is among the region’s most trusted and respected attorneys.

Trudy and Rob have three children.  Trudy offers insights to juggling family and a legal career, having started her practice when male lawyers far outnumbered female lawyers, and work accommodations were few.  As a lawyer, she’s experienced the challenges of working full-time, part-time, and as a contractor.
