The NKBA Legends & Change Makers Series features interviews of local attorneys who have distinguished themselves in the areas of legal practice and service accomplishments, with the goal of helping to educate and inspire other NKBA members. On May 14, 2025, our interviewee will be Leonard Rowekamp
Leonard G. Rowekamp has practiced law in Northern Kentucky and Greater Cincinnati since 1978 currently under the name Rowekamp Law PLLC. He is a 1975 magna cum laude graduate of Xavier University and a 1978 graduate of the University of Cincinnati College of Law. He is admitted to practice in Ohio and Kentucky, the United States Supreme Court and the
U.S. Tax Court. In addition to his private law practice, Mr. Rowekamp has served as Kenton County Master Commissioner since September 2021 after having acted for more than seventeen years as Deputy Master Commissioner during which time the office reviewed all Kenton County foreclosure matters in addition to other real estate matters referred by the Circuit Court.
Mr. Rowekamp is a member of the Northern Kentucky and Kentucky Bar Associations. He has served as Treasurer of the Northern Kentucky Bar Association and chair of the Real Estate and Probate Sections. He has served as chair of the Northern Kentucky United Way and Community Chest Board, the WNKU Community Advisory Board, American Heart Association (Northern Kentucky Division) and St. Agnes Church Parish Council. He has been active in the Northern Kentucky Chamber of Commerce and Northern Kentucky Estate Planning Council serving twice as President.
Mr. Rowekamp has previously spoken at seminars sponsored by the Kentucky,
Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky Bar Associations, Diocesan Planned Giving Committee,
Campbell County Extension Service, Covington Great Neighborhoods and commercial seminar providers on topics related to real estate and estate planning.

Join us for a lively discussion of how lawyers can ethically utilize artificial intelligence (AI) in their practice—both in handling cases as well as handling the business. The session will provide a brief overview of what generative AI is, the ethical rules most frequently at play when lawyers utilize AI software, as well as the already apparent dangers of AI in the legal profession. Attendees will consider the pros and cons of AI in legal marketing, case intake, research, writing, case analysis, transactional work, trial preparation, and more. Attendees will take part in real time operations of AI and not only gain a better understanding of this powerful and essential new tool but will also be better equipped to spot ethical considerations and legal malpractice concerns that AI presents.
